It's been a few years since I was in the unit, and even though I was only a member for about 7 seven months, I still look back at that time in Haymaker 1 very fondly. It was Second Lieutenant Ferreiro, a Sergeant and squad leader of Haymaker 1-2 at the time, that introduced me to ArmA milsim. After months of recurring attempts he finally forced convinced me to join the unit in April 2014. Corporal Persson, at the time a PFC who had recently taken over for Cpl Thomsen, was my first fireteam leader in Haymaker 1-2-A, and he made sure that I was given a great introduction to Haymaker and the unit in general. I ended up being perhaps the only person to have taken up positions in all fireteams of Haymaker 1-2 (Assistant Automatic Rifleman in Alpha, Automatic Rifleman in Charlie and eventually Fireteam Leader of Bravo). One of my favorite memories is one of the Haymaker 1 platoon trainings organized by then Platoon Commander First Lieutenant Valentino (who has now enlisted in the USMC):
